Ashley Cosme wrote about the cycle of poverty, "Do you believe lower[economic]-class people should pay the same taxes as higher-class people?" Ashley is smart to look at economic inequalities, all good historians do.
In 1492, why did the Western Europeans set sail to conquer the world and not the Native Americans, Asians or Africans? The Answer is not that Europeans were smarter, better looking or that God loved them more. The answer is in economic inequalities.
Your assignment is to focus on one of the advantages Europe had in 1492 or on one of the disadvantages facing Native Americans or African. Write about this single advantage or disadvantage: the how and why it lead to European ascendancy. Refer to your class notes, the textbook may or may not be useful I suggest pages 22 - 65, and the videos below are for college level but you may get much out of it. Comment Due Tuesday October 7th.

One of the advantages the Europeans had over the Native Americans in 1492, is receiving support from the king and Queen of Spain who supplied them with boats and various materials. By having boats, they were able to travel to far distant places and discover new land such as America. In addition, they were responsible for making America what it is today
by bringing their ideas, technologies, plants, animals, weapons, Christianity, Roman law, sugarcane, and wheat with them. With the help of transatlantic travel and the fact that the Europeans were resistant to many of the diseases that the Indians had no defenses to, the Europeans were able to obtain European Ascendancy over the Native Americans.
One of the advantages that the Europeans had that the Native Americans in 1492 didnt have is gunpowder to power their guns. Europe had the largest supply of gunpowder. In Eurasia people invented these guns. During the many wars that the people had they could have used the gunpowder, to powder their guns and fight but they chose not to, So they didn't become a unified country.
One of the advantages that Europeans had over the Indians in 1492 was diseases. While the Europeans were immune to many of these diseases the Indians were not. This wiped out some of the Indian tribes. Another advantage was agriculture, agriculture helped the Europeans with better crops giving more protein, strength, and much more. While in the Americas there were crops with low protein and less strength. These are some of the reasons of how this lead to European ascendancy.

Native Americans did not have any guns so they could barely difend themselves, and Europe had the largest supply of gunpowder which gave them an even bigger advantage because guns were the deadliest weapon during 1492 and even more years after that. Europe didn't have much wars anyway becasue they were pretected by geography.

Such as the guns, gun ammo , boats, and ships. So as you can see the Europeans had many advantages such as guns , ships ,boats and many other things.

The Native American’s did not have anyone from there leaders to support they needed to do things all by them self’s. The Europeans have been supplied with materials like boats, ships and guns.Boats for traveling not far distances for example a crossing lake or a river and ships for far distance traveling like crossing the Atlantic Ocean. Guns were used if someone was attacking. The Native American’s also had the boats to travel not far distance. But they did not have ships which would help them travel far distance and discover more new places. We would think this was a disadvantage to them but I would say they cared more about how to survive to the next day. The Native American’s also did not have guns they had bows and spears which meant if the Europeans and the Natives fought the Europeans would have then killed in one shoot 1 out 10 would only survive. The Europeans also were resistant to many of the diseases that the native American’s had no protection and defense to once again this was one of the biggest disadvantages to native Americans because there bodies were not use to the kind of germs that the Europeans had brought with then. This is also how the Europeans were able to get there ascendancy over the Native Americans by all of these advantages to them. I also want say if the Europeans and the Native American’s have not done what they have we would not have more and more questions and ideas and all new technologies.

Why did the Europeans have so many advatages over the Native Americans in 1492? Well, the invading Europeans had steel swords, guns, and horses, while Native Americans had only stone and wooden weapons and no animals that could be ridden.
This is because, the world was duplicated in many parts, including North and South America, Africa, Europe, Asia [Eurasia], and many Pacific islands. When something new was invented it would spread. Some one would write it down, and the next person who reads it would do something different reffering to it. -But When Europe invented something it would not go through the oceans, or through the sahara desert. But Asia and Europe could share because, they were togther and so my POINT is that, Native Americans weren't ever heard of such facilities and the Europeans were more advanced. When Christopher Columbus handed the Native Americans took the sword by the blade and cut them selves. Since the Native Americans had no armor they were unprotected from guns.
