According to Mary Tillman what are the reasons the Tillman family didn't sue the U.S. Government? To sue or not to sue, what do you think would be the right decision?

Mary Tillman's son was in the army. He was in Afghanistan. The pentagon said that Pat Tillman was shot during during the war. The pentagon also discovered that he was shot by Americans. I feel that the Tillman's should have sewed because they can gain money from pain and suffering. It wouldn't make sense to have to suffer without there being a consequence. It also wouldn't make sense to make the army not understand that they had to be more carefull. It sounds like the family lived off of the army.
Mary Tillan had a son named Pat Tillman. He had attended to join the army. When he was having a war, he got shot. While investigating, they found out that the bullet were the Americans. My thinking about this is that I think Mary should have sewed them because her son had died due by the Americans. It had really affected Mary and Pat's family relationship. Also, this have hurted Mary Tillman a lot because before 4 years sticking without the truth of what really happened to Pat, it must be a hard time. And the government had closed the case even though it wasn't solve and it was an huge mistake.
Mary Tillman son, Pat Tillman, was killed in Iraq by enemy fire. Then a few years later Mary finds out her son’s life was taken away by American bullets. The government kept this a secret for so long and now it’s out. I think Mary should sue because they kept it a secret and it was an American bullet. This is why I say Mary Tillman should sue.
The are many versions of why and how was Pat Tillman killed. But we only know one version which we mostly here about. Of how was Pat Tillman killed while serving as an Army Rangers soldier on a mission in southeastern Afghanistan, Pentagon and how he was shot by a bolt from the other side and then we find out that he was killed by his teammates. If you think about this you will see that this sounds like a mystery story from a book all planned out. But still the news of Tillman's death stunned those who knew him, and those who cheered him. It is an event which will be never forgot he did something which deserves a great respect. Let me tell you a little about Pat Tillman.
Pat Tillman was born in San Jose, California; Tillman started his college career at the linebacker position for Arizona State In the 1998 NFL Draft, Tillman was selected as the 226th pick by the Arizona Cardinals. Tillman moved over to play the safety position in the NFL, and started 10 of 16 games in his rookie season. University in 1994, when he secured the last remaining scholarship for the team. I began with this because I want to see what he left just for an army which only gave him death in exchange. After the September 11, 2001 attacks, Tillman turned down a $3.6 million contract from the Cardinals to enlist in the U.S. Army along with his brother Kevin, who had played minor league baseball professionally in the Cleveland Indians organization. Pat and his brother completed training for the elite Army Ranger School in late 2002, and were assigned to the second battalion of the 75th Ranger Regiment in Fort Lewis, Washington. Both Pat and Kevin were deployed to the Middle East as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Tillman was later redeployed to Afghanistan, where he was killed in action by friendly fire while on patrol when his unit was attacked in an ambush on April 22, 2004, on a road outside of the village of Seraph about 25 miles near the Pakistan border. He was the only Ranger killed in the attack, although two other Rangers were injured and an Afghan militia soldier was killed as well.
The United States Department of Defense has concluded that Pat Tillman's death was likely due to friendly fire aggravated by the intensity of the firefight. According to some reports no hostile forces were involved in the firefight, and two allied groups fired on each other in confusion over an exploded mine or remote controlled bomb. Army Special Operations Command, however, claims an exchange with hostile forces. Tillman's family was not informed of the finding that he was killed by friendly fire until weeks after his memorial service, despite the U.S. Army's knowledge of that fact within days of his death. Tillman should retain his medals and promotion, since he intended to engage the enemy, and behaved heroically.
Tillman family didn't sue the U.S. Government because the government will not be able to bring Pat back. The money at this moment is junk it is not going to solve anything. Also because the family does not have the whole story of how events have happpend. Other reason would be because at the audio interview Mary Tillman mentioned that the military destroyed all of the evidence such as Pat's uniform and battle armor, so she may have thought if there was a tape it have been also destroyed. And she wouldn’t not have evidence to proof any thing. Also because she may have wanted to really find the person who killed the Pat. If I were it the families position I would not sue the government but ask them to find out who would have killed Pat.
We will always remember you Pat
Today, I am writing a blog about what happened to Pat Tillman in 2004. On the day that Pat Tillman died, Mary Tillman was told that Pat had been killed in an ambush, but later Mary discovered that Pat was killed by friendly fire from other U.S. soldiers when it was confirmed that Pat was killed by a U.S. bullet.
The reason why Mary Tillman didn't sue the U.S. government is that she thought she wouldn't win the trial if she sued because Mary believes that the government lied about the details surrounding Pat's death and they would destroy any evidence that was recovered . In addition, Mary still does not know the whole truth about what happened to Pat on that tragic day.
I believe that Mary should have sued the government because she of all people deserves to know what really happened to her son, Pat. I also believe that patriotic families such as the Tillman family who put their lives on the line everyday to protect America have earned the right to know what really happened to their loved ones if they are killed while serving our country.
Well Mary Tillman had a son in the army. He got shot by bullets. The goverment said that her son has died in the war by a ambush. Though the goverment has found the bullets of americans. The Tillman family did not sue the goverment because he might have lost contact. I think that someone might have killed by the americans. So I think that they did not sue the goverment because they might have made a mistake. The goverment held the truth for 5 weeks. Their childhood has been about the military. If I was in there shoes I will not sue because alot of possibilities could happen.
Mary Tillman had a son who died while fighting in an American war. Then when they told her that her sin had died they covered it by saying he was ambushed by the other people. They kept this secret for five weeks. Then they told her he had really died because of an American troop. She decided not to sue because she would have lost because the military had destroyed all of his things. They destroyed things like his amour, his outfit, and more. If I were her I wouldn’t have sued for the same reason but in my head I would’ve thought of sewing for the fact that they kept it a secret for 5 weeks. Then I still wouldn’t have sued for the fact that I would’ve had lost.
I want to tell to Jason that even if she did sue and won the money, it wouldn’t be able to replace the love she had for her son.
Mary Tillman grew up around people who had lots of respect for the military. Her sons grew up hearing stories about how great and respectful it would be to serve in the military. Pat Tillman gave up his famous football career in order to serve in the military because he believed that it would make him a better person. This believes lasted no more than two weeks after he enlisted, Pat realized that the war in Afghanistan didn't have a purpose because they were fighting for oil. Pat died in 2004 in an ambush some anxious American were trigger happy and didn't what to stop shooting. Therefore he was killed by the hand of his our fellow soldier. The Military then tried to cover it up by lying to his family about his death. Mary Pat's mom was searching for closure of her son's death, so she didn’t sue the military because she was thought that these individuals are supposed to be respectful, self righteous and honest individual according to her father he insisted that the military does not lie and is very honorable. However, in this case the Military did everything possible to cover up this killing so Mary believes that her son had died deliberately.
Mary said that the other soldiers didn't try to cover up Pat’s shooting it wasn't until the military administration got involve then other soldiers began to back down. Mary knew that suing the military was not going to bring her son back but she just wanted to know the truth about what actually happen. Mary grew her son's to love, respect and serve their country and she expected same in return. Mary Tillman and her family feel anger for the not leaning about Pat death for four weeks.
Mary feels Congress and Donald Rumsfeld should be accountable for Pat’s death, but she know that they will never admit to there guilt. It is ashame when your send your love ones off to held their county and to learn that their fellow country men ends up killing them, where is the justice.
Mary Tillman's son, Pat Tillman was in the army and was serving in Afghanistan. While having a war Pat Tillman got shot. There were many things that people thought about it on their opinions. But after investigation, it was found that Pat Tillman was shot by American Bullets. Mary describes this as an "accident".
The Tillman family should have sued the country because, the bullets were found as American bullets. But I think the Tillman family didn't because, I think they didn't know what was actually behind the case. All they knew was that Pat was shot.
I think anyhow the Tillman family should have sued the government. Because, Mary says that the soldiers have given up so much -almost everything- to serve the army. Pat Tillman was also a NFL star.
He enlisted, along with his brother Kevin, who gave up the chance of a career in professional baseball. The two brothers completed the Ranger Indoctrination Program in late 2002 and were assigned to the second battalion of the 75th Ranger Regiment in Fort Lewis, Washington. He resided in University Place with his wife before being deployed to Iraq. After participating in the initial invasion of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Pat Tillman graduated from Ranger School.
Also the Tillman family said that, the family decided that they didn't want to take it to court and wanted to see if this system would work by it self.
Also, Mary said that the other soldiers didn't try to cover up Pat’s shooting it wasn't until the military administration got involve then other soldiers began to back down. So this tells us that Mary knew that suing the military was not going to bring her son back. These are the reasons why the Tillman's made this decision. And I think the family should have sued the government.
Mary Tillman had two sons. One of them was Pat Tilman, he died in a war but was shot by an American bullet. The reason that Mary Tillman didn’t sue the American government because she thought that they would cover up all of the evidence. She also thought that it might have been an accidental fire. Either way she would have not win because she didn’t have any proof. There were many possibilities of how her son have may had died. Maybe she didn’t sue because her family worked in the military. If i had to pick i wouldnt sue because there are many possibilties.
Mary Tillman’s son Pat Tillman was an NFL Football Star. He gave up football after the 911 attack to join the Army. The Pentagon had said that Pat Tillman died heroically by an enemy ambush. But the government soon found out that it was not enemy bullets that killed him they were American bullets he was shot by his fellow comrades. His mother Mary still doesn’t know the full story on how her son died. She’s written a new book on her search on how her son died. I think that Mary Tillman should sew the army for homicide against a fellow soldier. I don’t think it was fair for her not to know how her son died. And then lying about it to save their butts is even worse. Those solders should have been kicked out of the army or gone to jail their whole lives. That’s what I think should be the appropriate punishment.
Mary Tillman's son Pat tillman was shot in Afghanistan. The investigators stated that her son got shot by the enemy army, but they lied. Pat Tillman actually got shot by friendly fire(shot by his own soldiers, Americans). I do not think that she should sew. I think she shouldn't sew because, what is sewing going to do for her? Sewing is not going to bring her son back, so whats the point. I think the U.S government should appologize, and do whatever they can for that family.
Mary Tillman's son Pat Tillman was killed at war in southeastern Afghanistan. It is sad, but he was killed by an American bullet, you think it is outrageous but its not!
Put your self in the shoes of the American soldier who shot Pat, you would have said that it was an accident, and now if you were the mother of Pat you would have sewed the American soldier. Both sides have a point!!! I think she should have sewed the American soldier because thats why they train in army and also they have different costumes so how could he possibly miss, unless the soldier didnt see well.If he didn't see well the mother should sew the person who checked the American soldiers health because the person should have known that possible accident would have happend. The government should me more careful.
Mary Tillman's son, Pat Tillman was in the U.S army. While serving there he was shot and killed. Later they discovered that he was shot and killed by an American bullet. If i was in his family I would of sewed. Because in the army shooting a fellow
comrade is bad thing.
Mary Tillman had a son named Pat Tillman, Pat was killed while fighting in an American war. He was killed with an american bullet. I think think that Mary should sue because it shouldn't have been kept so secretive. But on the other hand , she shouldn't sue because there wasen't enough evidence to support the incident.
Mary Tillmans son fought in the U.S army.He supposidly died from an enemy anbush, but was later revieled that he was shot with a U.S bullet.I felt that Mary Tillman should Sue. because the U.s killed their own citizen. That is a crime and should be charged.I think that the family respects the U.S army a little to much.If it was me,I would have sewed.
Mary Tillmans son, Pat Tillman was in the army and died in Afghanistan. She new five weeks later that her son was killed by his American comrades. Even after learning this, the Tillman family didn`t sue. I think they should sue. Even though Pat Tillman was killed accidently, suffering and keeping quiet about it doesn`t make sense. Also, the Pentagon he had been shot by his comrades FIVE weeks after his death. There should be no reason to try to cover it up. This gave the Tillman family all the more reason to sue.
